Dear visitor, like every manor also Gorizia Castle has its own legend, and I am the protagonist. I am known as the cruel Countess Catherine, wife of the Count of Gorizia Henry IV, and I owned seven mighty Danes who savaged people at my command. One night, a messenger with a large bag full of gold showed up at the Gorizia Castle seeking refuge. I welcomed him for the night, but the next day I did incite the dogs to kill him. I then took the valuable lot to the subterranean rooms of the Castle, already full of treasures. One of my servants killed me, but when he looked for the treasures, they had mysteriously disappeared. From that inauspicious day, every seven years in the rooms and on the walls of the castle my ghost appears, with long flowing hair and light white robes, accompanied by my wild dogs howling terribly. The one who dares to approach me and ask me where I hid the treasure, not only will possess it, but also will give peace to my spirit!
