Piazza Duomo – Palazzo degli Stati Provinciali

At 3.30 pm the Emperor arrived by coach at Piazza Duomo (today, Piazza Cavour) and stopped in front of the entrance of the Palazzo degli stati provinciali, the Police HQ.

On the faҁade of the building was unveiled a large plaque of “green serpents framed in bronze” set with two medallions reproducing the two sides of the commemorative medal given to the Emperor. The plaque was dismantled in the 1920s but is still visible on the inner wall that looks from the garden of the Palazzo Attems-Petzenstein, today the Art Gallery of the Musei Provinciali.
