A.Perco - OFFICINA DI ELETTRICITA'

Realizzata nel 1902 su progetto dell’architetto Andrea Perco, l’Officina di elettricità era di proprietà della Società viennese per gas e luce elettrica e in tal modo si spiega la libertà di scelta stilistica che poté essere stata concessa dal Comune.

Andrea Perco

The electrical workshop, owned by an Austrian gas and electric company, was built in 1902 based on the plans of the architect Andrea Perco. This work embodies the results of the teachings of Joseph Hoffman upon Rodolfo Perco, Andrea Perco’s son, and it is among the first works to welcome the style of “art nouveau” proclaimed by the Vienna Secession. The linearity of the iron parapets on the main building’s facade is unmistakable; in harmony with a decision to leave out static symmetries typical for Gorizia’s architecture of that time; as well as the use of different levels and volumetric developments that merge into elegant proportions, transforming this building into the most Secessionist building of the city.
