On Saturday, January 11, at 8:45 PM, the Giuseppe Verdi Municipal Theater in Gorizia will host "Alles Walzer," an extraordinary event marking the annual reopening of the stage with a tribute to the beauty and elegance of ballet, heralding a memorable 2025 for Gorizia and Nova Gorica, united as European Capital of Culture.

The evening’s star will be Alessio Rezza, étoile of the Rome Opera House, joined by the talented young dancers of the Rome Opera House School, directed by Eleonora Abbagnato. Also performing will be Sara Renda, principal dancer and former étoile of the Opéra National de Bordeaux.

The choreography for "Alles Walzer" is by Renato Zanella, a leading figure in international dance, former artistic director of the Vienna State Opera, and for 15 years the creator of the unforgettable choreographies for the New Year's Concert, broadcast worldwide.

The performance reinterprets the essence of Viennese waltzes, transitioning from the grand imperial palaces to the theatrical stage. The music of Johann Strauss, Josef Strauss, and Gustav Mahler will form the vibrant core of the evening, preserving the energy, lightheartedness, and aesthetic charm of the Viennese tradition.

The evening will begin with a tribute to Giuseppe Verdi, featuring melodies from the opera Un Ballo in Maschera, followed by the most celebrated pieces of the Strauss family, including The Blue Danube, The Spring Waltz, Viennese Blood, and Perpetuum Mobile. The grand finale will feature the slow, poignant waltz Adagietto from Mahler's Symphony No. 5, symbolizing the end of Johann Strauss Jr.'s era while cementing his eternal artistic legacy.
