And although the Mount Calvario did not blossom, nor the Carso Everlastingly tormented by a storm of blows, yet every heart of ours burst into blossom from the seeds that hope had scattered... Each is eager to be the first to kiss the azure coloured cloak of Saint Gorizia.

Dear visitor, I am Vittorio Locchi (1889-1917) Italian soldier and poet. Since I was a little boy I have been exuberant, preferring horses and outdoor games rather than spending time with books, but over time I discovered my love for poetry.

I graduated in business in 1909 and returned to Figline where, together with some of my compatriots, I founded the "Ice Brigade", a company dedicated to theater and poetry, inspired by medieval and 15th century models.

For 5 years (1910 – 1925) I lived in Venice, where I attended a course of foreign languages and literature and founded "La Tavolissima", an association interested in figurative arts and literature, trying to make my way into journalism.

I participated in the World War on the Isonzo front. After being ill, in 1916 I took part in the conquest of Gorizia, that I celebrated in the poem "The Feast of Santa Gorizia". I died at 28 in the Aegean Sea.
