Together with some stone sculptures depicting, among others, Diana the Huntress and the Faun, the Neoclassical Temple constitutes the central decorative element of the beautiful internal garden of the Palazzo Attems di Santa Croce, now the Municipal House, dating back to 1740 and traditionally attributed to the architect of Gorizia origins Nicolò Pacassi.

The decidedly romantic and evocative atmosphere of courtly love scenes, of Ladies and Knights, is offered by the municipal administration to the newlywed couples who often come here to celebrate their weddings.
