Continuing, you reach Piazza Sant'Antonio where, on the right, stands the ancient Palazzo Strassoldo, which during the 19th century hosted the exiled French royals.

“Abandoned by its owners since July 3, 1915, and left at the mercy of soldiers and the population, repeatedly hit and torn apart by grenades, it was reduced to complete ruin by a fire started on November 16, 1917.” The surviving section of the cloister of the Friars Minor in Piazza Sant'Antonio and the adjoining 19th-century church were also hit, as was the Palazzo Lantieri behind it, which had its roof collapsed and one wing partially demolished.
