The epigraphed obelisk made of karst stone stands on the site of the previous church of Oslavia, completely destroyed by the fighting.

Before the construction of the Oslavia Ossuary, the Papa General War Cemetery existed around the obelisk (1417 Italian bodies later transferred to the nearby Ossuary and 273 Austrian bodies, transferred to the Austro-Hungarian cemetery of Salcano), also known as “of the four generals”, since generals Papa, Trombi, Cattalochino, Tancredi-Cartella were buried there.
