In the last part of Corso Francesco Giuseppe, villas and small houses gave way to two compact fronts of buildings.

At the intersections with the side streets, the facades of the buildings featured characteristic corner façades, such as the one at the intersection with today's Via XXIV Maggio, which featured the entrance to a famous café, opened in 1899, modeled after those in Vienna. The "Caffè Garibaldi" is still located here today.

The Corso ended at the Verdi Theater, at the intersection of Via del Teatro (now Via Garibaldi) and Via Alvarez (now Via Diaz), then continuing as Via del Giardino, the current Corso Giuseppe Verdi. It was here, near the building that housed the post office, that the second triumphal arch was erected for the emperor's visit. When Franz Joseph crossed it, he was greeted by "an ever-increasing burst of applause, mingling with the cannon fire and the festive ringing of bells."
