Footbridge over the Isonzo

Built to shorten the route of workers and farmers who crossed the Isonzo River daily between the districts of Strazig (Straccis) and Podgora (Piedimonte) for work, today it still constitutes a beautiful panoramic point along the promenade that connects the two banks of the river, halfway between the two main road bridges.

Commissioned by the Barons Ritter family of entrepreneurs in the second half of the 19th century, it was destroyed during the First World War and then damaged and rebuilt several times following the impetuous floods of the river.
