United by a professional bond and deep friendship, Mansutti and Miozzo's work has focused mainly on the design of works commissioned by Renato Ricci, director of the Opera Nazionale Balilla (ONB).

The Casa della Gioventù Italiana del Littorio (GIL) represents one of the most important social housing projects left by the Rationalist architectural culture in Gorizia and is one of 23 similar projects completed between 1931 and 1938 throughout Italy. The history of these architectural works, designed in such a short period of time, is still little known and explored. However, it is exemplary how these buildings are characterized by constant compositional, dimensional, and functional variation. When compared, they appear profoundly different, reflecting the environmental nature of the sites and the specific functional program of each project.
