This important city artery, formerly called Via del Ponte Isonzo because it connected the city center to the only bridge that, at that time, joined the two banks of the river, took its current name after the Salesians established a boarding school there dedicated to San Giovanni Bosco, destined to constitute an important educational and training point of reference for the young people of Gorizia and its territory throughout the twentieth century.

The street, shaded by centuries-old trees and embellished by the presence of numerous homes of high architectural value, begins immediately above Borgo Piazzutta, from where you can enjoy a splendid view of the Castle. As it slowly descends towards the Isonzo River, it offers a walk of great romantic charm.
