Catholic bookstore

The Catholic Bookshop – Katoliška knjigarna was founded in 1910 by the Catholic Printing Society – Katoliško tiskovno društvo.

It is the oldest bookshop in Gorizia and one of the region's historic bookshops. In 1931, it moved to its current location at Piazza Vittoria, 25. Its publishing activity has also played a key role in its more than century-long history. The building was renovated in 2003, with particular attention paid to preserving its Art Nouveau features.

The bookshop and other businesses in the building are a commercial and cultural hub for the city's Slovenian minority community.
