AFTER MILAN, MARSEILLE AND STOCKHOLM, THE “TATTOOS” EXHIBITION PROJECT ARRIVES IN GORIZIA FROM SUNDAY 7TH
A message engraved for the world, a seal of love, a memory that never fades, a sign of belonging or an act of pure freedom. It may arise from an impulse or an intimate need, but it always tells something about us, more enduring than words.
At the heart of GO! 2025, alongside Let's Go! Cosplay & Fun – Go! 2025 Special Edition, "Tattoos. Signs on the Skin, Traces of Identity" arrives in Gorizia. This exhibition explores the cultural, symbolic, and anthropological dimensions of tattoos through a selection of graphic, photographic, video, and textual materials.
The initiative, promoted by the Municipality of Gorizia in collaboration with GECT GO/EZTS GO, builds on the exhibition "Tattoo. Stories from the Mediterranean," produced by 24 ORE Cultura – Gruppo 24 ORE, which premiered at the MUDEC – Museum of Cultures in Milan in 2024.
The exhibition was curated by Luisa Gnecchi Ruscone and Guido Guerzoni, with the collaboration of Francesca Jurate Piacenti and Beatrice Corti. After its Milanese debut, enriched by important national loans and in-depth historical and iconographic research, the exhibition embarked on a European tour, visiting Marseille and Stockholm, and visiting major museums.
This exhibition, intended to be a reflection on the body as a narrative, identity-building, and social surface, will be hosted at the Auditorium della Cultura Friulana, at Via Roma 23, from Sunday, September 7th to Sunday, September 21st, Tuesday through Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Admission is free. The inauguration is scheduled for noon on Sunday, September 7th.
