The Language Festival returns to Gorizia: the third edition will take place on Friday, September 5th and Saturday, September 6th, once again under the direction of the Kulturhaus Görz association.
Scholars, writers, journalists, and artists from various countries will bring meetings, lectures, and performances to the city, revealing languages as tools for connecting and interpreting the present.
On Friday the 5th at 5 pm at Palazzo de Grazia, Via Oberdan 15, the program will kick off with the presentation of the International Summer School, which will bring together university students from all over Europe in residence.
The second day will begin at 10:00 a.m. with an International Breakfast, where Summer School students will discuss newspapers from their countries. Also at 4:00 p.m., the exhibition "The Languages of Gorizia," curated by the Friulian Philological Society and dedicated to the glottologist Graziadio Isaia Ascoli, will open. The grand finale will be at 10:00 p.m. with the world premiere of Rossana Puntin's bilingual dramatized reading of Kuh's satirical story "Die Narren von Görz / The Imbeciles of Gorizia," with Jens Kolata speaking in German, actor Giorgio Amodeo speaking in Italian, and musical performances by Raffaele Ragusa.
The meetings, which are free to attend, will be held in the original languages (Italian, Slovenian, German, and French) with translation into Italian, Slovenian, and English.
