Even though it is out of exhibition, it is still part of the series of events organised on the occasion of “Mountain Stories”.
The event, despite taking place just a few days after the exhibition closes, is one of the most important events scheduled in the series of conferences related to "Mountain Stories at Palazzo Coronini"
With the two leading experts on female mountaineering in Italy and beyond, 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨 and 𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐝 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐫, both authors and writers of beautiful books, we will tell the story of passionate travelers and women spanning the entire Alpine region between the pioneering era of mountaineering and the First World War.
Courageous women who went against the grain, aspiring to find a lifestyle that would reawaken their desire for adventure, castrated by a society that imposed other roles on women, yet never dormant.
Women who climbed paths and peaks that left us narrated testimonies of transalpine journeys. Women who often wrote of their ascents as little more than a dry, uncommented list, so as not to attract too much attention. And women we learn about indirectly, from texts written by men who record some forgotten names or from texts written by other women who, more recently, have searched through their lenses for traces of them caught between the lines of other memoirs.
Moderated by journalist 𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐳𝐳𝐢.
