An unprecedented event of historic significance will be hosted on Friday, July 25th in Piazza Transalpina: Jumping Overcoming Boundaries will see more than ten pole vault champions "fly" to clear the bar set right on the border between Italy and Slovenia.
The women's race will start at 4:30 PM, and the men's at 6:30 PM. It will be broadcast live on Rai Sport.
Among the women, participating will be Katie Moon, the American Olympic champion at Tokyo 2021, Tina Sutej, the reigning Slovenian world indoor silver medalist, Elisa Molinarolo (Fiamme Oro), sixth at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Brazilian Juliana De Menis Campos, the reigning South American champion, and the Czech Amalie Svabikova, national record holder and winner of the European team championships in Madrid.
Following Emmanouil Karalis' withdrawal, Norway's Sondre Guttormsen, the 2023 continental indoor champion, will compete. Guttormsen is one of 29 men to have jumped over 6 meters. He will be joined by Menno Vloon (Netherlands), the reigning continental indoor champion (shared with Karalis) and national record holder (a personal best of 5.96 meters). Belgian and Polish record holders Ben Broeders and Piotr Lisek have also confirmed their participation.
The final participants will be announced in the next few days.
