There is a history that seems distant from Gorizia but instead concerns it closely: that of colonialism.
Marilisa Bombi and Tassilo Del Franco will discuss this theme on Tuesday 14 April at 6pm in the Dora Bassi room in Via Garibaldi, in a dialogue that intertwines national history and border history, opening a new perspective on events that are often told separately
The dialogue between these two dimensions—the empire built and the empire lost—will be the focus of the conference "Between Colonial Empire and Border." It will be an opportunity to reread the twentieth century from a different perspective, in which Gorizia is no longer a mere spectator, but part of a broader narrative of empires, transitions, and transformations.
The event is part of the Voci dal confine live project, promoted by the podcast of the same name, with the aim of building a space for informed historical memory, capable of questioning the past and directing our gaze to the present.
